Tea and water are beautiful companions for meditation because they help you ease into a softer, more present state of mind. Green tea is especially grounding, and matcha—with its earthy warmth and steady energy—is one of my favorites for settling into spiritual practice. The process of preparing your tea becomes a quiet ritual: boiling the water, watching the leaves unfurl, feeling the cup warm your hands. Each step invites you to slow down and return to yourself before you even take the first sip.
When you’re ready to drink, pause and offer a moment of gratitude for the nourishment in front of you. Sip slowly, deliberately, and with full awareness, letting each taste pull you deeper into the present moment. Let the simple act of drinking tea become part of your meditation—an anchor to the Now. When you finish, close with gratitude for everything that carried you to this moment, this cup, this breath, and this space to be still.
